OUR INTEGRATION CAPABILITY

Integration falls into two categories – technology integration and services integration.

As systems become more intelligent it is important they connect and work in conjunction with each other rather than each system being “stand-alone”. Also more and more buildings are being remotely secured and monitored off-site than ever before. And people across the world are appreciating the cost savings and increased protection this innovative technology brings.

If you choose to integrate your systems, you’ll enjoy technological benefits and you’ll also save yourself money.

And if you join your services together, you’ll benefit from end to end testing, further efficiencies and cost savings.

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Security products are now IP-based, allowing you to combine access control, intruder and CCTV in a single system.

Fire detection, voice alarms and Emergency Voice Communication Systems are also now so advanced that there are integrated life safety platforms combining a number of these technologies.

Head end graphics systems can be used to integrate different systems at control room level, and these can also have remote access.

Technology integration can be achieved at many different levels and you can benefit from Senseco’s experience in this area.

SERVICES INTEGRATION

We offer integrated design, installation, service and maintenance for fire, passive, sprinklers, suppression, security, voice and monitoring systems. Combining everything under one carbon neutral agreement reduces administration, contract management and the need for multiple engineers to be called out.

We also offer consultancy design services and fire risk assessment surveys to meet the required legislation.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Most of today’s access control, intruder and CCTV products can be combined on an IP network. This integration offers you a wide range of benefits including remote monitoring and cost savings.

You can bring different combinations of fire detection, voice alarm and emergency voice communication together into an integrated life safety system. This gives you flexibility of functionality and shared use of power supplies, network cabling and software, saving you money.

SYSTEM SURVEYS AND ADVICE

We have a broad range of experience across fire, passive, sprinklers, suppression, security, voice and monitoring systems. As an independent company we’re not tied to a single manufacturer or product range. This means we can offer you impartial advice on all of your systems, and provide recommendations and guidance on replacement and new systems. We’ll always advise what’s right for you.

We can survey your systems and carry out dilapidation reports, lifecycle reports, compliance surveys and special inspections (as defined under BS5839-1). Our engineers and staff have hands-on experience, so they can look for technical and practical solutions. In many cases we can give you advice on altering or migrating your existing system, allowing you to retain parts of it. This removes the need for a full replacement, therefore minimising disruption and costs.

FIRE SAFETY ORDER COMPLIANCE SURVEYS

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, or RR(FS)O, as it’s commonly known, applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales. This includes the communal areas of blocks of flats and houses of multiple occupation (HMOs). It applies to virtually all premises, and covers nearly every type of building, structure and open space. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 introduce new duties under the Fire Safety Order for building owners or managers (responsible persons)

The RR(FS)O defines the “Responsible Person”. This is the person who owns / manages the premises or business or the person with control over the premises, business or activity. The Responsible Person must carry out a Fire Risk Assessment, produce a policy, develop procedures (particularly with regard to evacuation), provide staff training and carry out fire drills.

GRAPHICS USER INTERFACE

Graphics Systems provide a great way to integrate different systems on site. They provide an easy to view and use monitoring of your fire alarm and other systems on a site. These are particularly useful on campus site and large site with multiple buildings. They can be a method of bringing information together from different systems to a single, easy to use Graphics User Interface. They provide a visual representation of the site and “buttons” can be set up for common functions such as plant isolations for weekly testing.

More and more systems also allow remote viewing via web browsers so it is possible to view incidents securely by multiple users on site or even off site.

INTEGRATION MAINTENANCE

We can service and maintain integrated systems, as well as individual fire, passive, sprinklers, suppression, security, voice and monitoring systems. Combining everything under one carbon neutral maintenance agreement reduces administration, contract management and the need for multiple engineers to be called out. We have specialist fire, passive, sprinklers, suppression, security, voice and monitoring systems voice engineers, and also multi-skilled engineers able to maintain the full range or a combination of these systems.

When it comes to maintenance of integrated platforms, such as an integrated life safety system comprising fire detection, voice alarm and fire telephones, it’s important to use a company with a deep understanding of how these systems work.

Somerset House

Somerset House is a heritage property dating back to 1547 in the heart of London. Although it is well known for it’s outdoor skating rink at Christmas and open air concerts in the summer, it has many other uses and accommodates many other tenants. It hosts the UK’s largest creative community working globally across art, technology, business and social enterprise.

The South Wing of Somerset House had a mix of hard wired fire detection system, an obsolete radio / wireless fire detection system and many aspiration systems, most no longeroperational. The project was to replace all of the systems in the South Wing with a single fire detection system for all areas and provide graphical representation of this wing and two other wings with legacy systems on a single graphics platform.

This was all to be carried out within a listed building with mixed use and different tenants with minimal disruption to day to day operations.

Castle Mall

Located in the centre of Norwich City, Castle Mall shopping centre comprises of 60 stores and food outlets, across five levels of retail and leisure, including an 8-screen Vue cinema. The centre also boasts a 790 space multi-storey car park.

The fire detection and alarm system installed in the shopping centre was a Honeywell FC90 system, which was closed protocol and had reached the end of its working life. A replacement system was therefore needed to provide a modern supportable system for the shopping centre.

This is a working shopping centre so minimal disruption to the operation of the shopping centre, retailers and shoppers was of paramount importance.

Uniper Enfield

Uniper’s portfolio combines large-scale power generation and management of energy supply chains. Uniper’s former parent company was E.ON, who now focus on the new energy world.

Uniper Power Station in Enfield had fire, suppression and voice alarm systems that had reached the end of their serviceable life.  They needed modern control equipment which would combine controls for different extinguishing systems into a centralised control station.  The extinguishing systems themselves also needed replacing or updating.

Senseco were chosen to provide a bespoke solution providing controls and upgrades for gas extinguishing, water mist and deluge systems along with a replacement voice alarm rack.  Our power station expertise and ability to provide flexible, custom built solutions to meet Uniper’s needs were key to the project.
